Dale Jans - President
Majority Owner of Jans Corporation, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University. He purchased Nioda Builders in 1982, changing its name to Jans Corporation in 1984. He is currently registered as a professional engineer in South Dakota and Nebraska.Mr. Jans is currently a National Director for the Associated General Contractors of America. He is a member of the AGC of South Dakota Building Chapter and a Past President. He is past Chairman of the National AGC Public Relations Committee.
He is a member and Past President of the South Dakota American Society of Civil Engineers, Eastern Branch. He is a member and Past President of the South Dakota Engineering Society, Southeastern Branch. In 1988 he was recognized as The Young Engineer of the year and in 1989 he received honors as the Engineer of the Year from SDES. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. He is a member and past officer of the Sioux Falls Builders. He is a past member of the Sioux Falls Construction Review Board and past chairman of the Sioux Falls Board of Appeals. He is currently a member of the Sioux Falls Park and Recreation Board and Past President. He is a member and has served as Chairman of the South Dakota Board of Technical Professions. He is Past Chairman of the National Finance Committee for the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. He is on the advisory group for the Civil Engineering Department at South Dakota State University. He has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
His service club duties include member and Past President of the Sioux Falls Sertoma Club, Past Sertoma Governor of South Dakota where he received honors as a Distinguished Governor for two terms, and Sertoman of the Year for the South Dakota District. He is a member of Sunnycrest Methodist Church. He is a past member of the Christian Business Men’s committee; Past Discussion Leader for Bible Study Fellowship and Past President of the Board of Directors of Sunnycrest Retirement Village. He serves on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries located in Sioux City, Iowa. He is on the Leadership Foundation Board of the North American Baptist Seminary. He is on the Advisory Board for Hope Haven of Rock Valley, Iowa. He is a member of the mayor’s task force for the new Recreation Center and Events Center in Sioux Falls.
